When his latest single “Thinkin’ Bout You” rose to the #1 position for multiple weeks, Dustin Lynch set the bar high for what he would release as a follow-up as he created a tremendous amount of buzz that elevated the country star’s spotlight that much more while turning up everyone’s anticipation to maximum height.

On the heels of the announcement of his ‘Party Mode’ tour, Dustin Lynch then craftily used the stage of Luke Bryan’s ‘Crash My Playa’ event to officially announce that “Party Mode” was also going to be his next single as he delivered the feel-good song for the crowd on hand.

With the song now officially released to radio this week, Dustin Lynch perfectly aligns himself for striking the upcoming warmer weather months with the summery tilted vibe and sing-along chorus.

However, beneath the catchy melody sits really strong lyrics, that while they do see Lynch turning back to his partying ways of drinking seven nights a week in the aftermath of a split with his girl, there are also several truth bombs that he drops along the way that dig deeper into the emotional tilt than the party atmosphere initially may suggest.

He realizes in the opening lines of the song that he can’t go back and change how everything happened, confesses that he is missing her and what they had in the second verse, and delivers some very poignant lines with stark messages such as “there ain’t no future in looking back.”

He seems to also understand that while he appears to be this good-timin’ party guy, it’s all just smoke and mirrors to cover up the fact that he is using these antics as a way of running from the truth; something he freely admits to doing during the pre-chorus.

In many ways this is the first shot at a summer song from one of country music’s biggest mainstream artists, and it will easily provide the launching pad into all those feel-good vibed songs that always seem to come at us during this time of year.

However, because of the depth of the lyrics, “Party Mode” turns the corner from being just a bright, up-tempo placement on radio playlists, to being a song that can potentially reach through the speakers to help people admit the things they are dealing with during their own breakup misery and how they’re choosing to cope with them, bringing to light a potentially better way to face it.
