After begging, pleading, and even demanding requests from country music fans, Craig Campbell is set to release a brand new album this month, pre-empted by his brand new single, “Tractor Songs”, available everywhere via his own Grindstone Records label.

The tune follows “Things You Do In A Truck”, which was co-written by and features rising country singer/songwriter Trea Landon.

Walker Hayes wrote “Tractor Songs” and co-produced it along with Luke DeJaynes, and his decision to send the song to Campbell came after a show they played together in Orlando.  Hayes said the song and the singer are a perfect pair.

“He sings it like he wrote it”, Walker said.  “No one could do it better, and I wouldn’t want anyone else on it”.

The song is a love song, both about a significant other as well as about a way of life.  It’s a bit of a throwback track with a modern vibe.  As one would expect from Hayes’ penned tune, there are contemporary elements, but the presence of the steel guitar and fiddle, along with Craig’s vocal delivery, take us back to the days of more traditional country music.

“Baby, I don’t even know what we’ll have rows of

Maybe corn, maybe cotton, maybe soy bean

All I know is all I need is your love

And the Lord to take care of the sun and the rain”

Craig has seen the highs and lows of the industry over the years while also enjoying the well-deserved success of singles including “Family Man”, “Outta My Head”, “Fish”, and “Keep Them Kisses Comin’”, among others.  And following the launch of his own label, Grindstone Records, in 2020, he has had the musical freedom and confidence to deliver the type of country music he wants to on his own terms.

“Tractor Songs” is the first single off his forthcoming album, ‘The Lost Files: Exhibit A’, scheduled for release on February 17, 2023.  The 16-track release will be his first in a long time, answering the call from fans who have longed for new music form the established singer-songwriter.  We can all expect much more new music from Craig in the weeks and months ahead.
