LECADE - Bed We Made - Big Machine Records

It is truly remarkable just how many talented musicians there are in this world.  Nashville, TN is the home for thousands of aspiring singers and songwriters, all with the hope of making their dreams become realities.  And it is similarly astounding how we, as a country music community, continue to be introduced to fresh faces with the talent and charisma to see their name in lights sooner rather than later.

Enter LECADE, a fresh-faced newcomer on the scene with a sound and look that is headed straight for notoriety, success, and potential stardom.  His latest tune, “Bed We Made”, is available digitally and on all streaming platforms now via Big Machine Records.

The 21-year old’s music unapologetically embraces the modern pop-country sound, resembling a Morgan Wallen approach to songwriting.  Written by LECADE along with Austin Shawn, “Bed We Made” is a play on the famous phrase, “you’ve made your bed, now lie in it”, and tells the internal turmoil of the narrator as he toggles with the end of a relationship. 

“They say ‘the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results,’ and this song kind of applies that idea to relationships,” he shared.  “I think a lot of folks have been at that crossroads in a relationship where you’re deciding whether you want to stick it out because the past was so good and you’re already so far down the road or choose an entirely different future.  It’s a tough place to be.”

With a wide spectrum of musical influences ranging from the likes of Tim McGraw to Drake, the Mississippi/Louisiana native incorporates elements form a vast array of genres, collectively contributing to a sound unique and true to himself.

Lyrically, this is a cleverly crafted tune, with the quick-witted words flowing through the singer’s strong yet controlled voice along a mid-tempo, modern pop melody.

“We were wild hearts running down a dirt lane

Dreaming of a future, now it’s just running away

Rolling like a freight train headed down a one-way

Never coming back again, sleeping in the bed we made”

Embracing the modern influencers in his music life, LECADE fell in love with country music by watching his father play at bars and honky tonks, which quickly led him to purchasing beats on Youtube and writing lyrics over them.  His social media presence has taken off, averaging more than 2.4 million monthly listeners, and has tallied more than 100 million streams to date. 

His debut country album, ‘Chasing Ghosts’, was well received by critics and fans alike, featuring the popular single “When I’m Gone”.  Now, with a strong team behind him at Big Machine Records, LECADE is set to take his music career to the next level.
