MACKENZIE PORTER - Nobody's Born With A Broken Heart - Big Loud Records

One of the most anticipated full-length albums of the year finally has a release date.  ‘Nobody’s Born With A Broken Heart,’ the Big Loud Records debut album from Mackenzie Porter, is due April 26th.

The Canadian born and now Nashville based country singer-songwriter is kicking off 2024 with a brand-new tune that promises to take excitement surrounding the record’s release to an all-time high.  The album’s title track, “Nobody’s Born With A Broken Heart”, is available digitally and on all streaming platforms now.

“Nobody’s born with a broken heart.  We all start with the naivety and innocence of youth, but then life happens,” Mackenzie shared.  “There are so many circumstances and events in a lifetime that can slowly chip away at your heart, and in the end you’re this beautiful, imperfect, cracked mess.  But isn’t that what living really is?  If you didn’t have the grit, would you really know the grace?”

Co-written by Porter along with Luke Niccoli, Lydia Vaughan, and Parker Welling, the tune tells the tale of life’s journey and how our proof of living is shown through the cuts, scrapes and scars we experience and endure, both internally and externally.  Accompanied by a modern mid-tempo vibe headlined by fiddle and sweeping guitar hooks, the lyrics seemingly flow straight from the heart and are delivered magnificently by Mackenzie’s vulnerably-subdued yet powerfully-controlled vocals.

“Love’s a blade and God it’s sharp

Smoothest steel but leaves a mark

Proof of life is dying with scars

‘Cause nobody’s born with a broken heart”

In addition to the release of “Nobody’s Born With A Broken Heart”, three other tracks have also been made available in anticipation of the upcoming record, including “Easy To Miss”, “Pay Me Back In Change”, and “Young At Heart”.

The Nashville-based songstress made herself a household name in her home country of Canada, becoming the first female this century to have Six No. 1 songs at Canadian country radio.  Her standout tunes “Pickup” and “These Days” not only proved to be crossover hits into the pop genre, but also garnered her well-deserved buzz and recognition in the U.S. in Music City and beyond.

Of course, much of the country music world in the US was formally introduced to Porter via her duet with Dustin Lynch on the six-week No. 1 hit “Thinking ‘Bout You”.  Having supported the likes of Blake Shelton, Kenny Chesney, and Brad Paisley in 2023, Porter is setting her sights on taking her career to the next level this year with a new album and an extensive tour run in support in 2024.
