LEE BRICE, NATE SMITH, HAILEY WHITTERS - Drinkin' Buddies - Curb Records

Carrying an absolute know-how around a blue-collar, drinking anthem, Lee Brice has embraced the representation of the everyday, common man throughout his career with songs such as “Drinking Class,” “More Beer,” and “Parking Lot Party.”

Likewise, the multi-Platinum, award-winning artist isn’t a stranger to a strong collaboration: “I Hope Your Happy Now” with Carly Pearce, “Checking In” with for KING & COUNTRY, “Walls Fall Down” with Zach Williams, etc.

His latest effort, “Drinkin’ Buddies,” sees him intriguingly combining both worlds when he’s joined by hotshot risers Nate Smith and Hailey Whitters for a Solo cup raised anthem that’s laced in celebratory mode to the good friends who are with you through all of life’s ups, downs, and in-betweens.

With the crack of a cold one igniting the intro, the song written by Zach Kale, Chris Destefano, and Justin Wilson immediately engages the simplicity of its sway along groove as Brice outlines the tribulations of his otherwise boring day in the deer stand through a conversational toned phone call with Nate Smith, who just so happens to be floating his way back to the shoreline after a day on the lake riddled in his own fishing woes.

Having some break-up, boy troubles on her plate as Whitters reveals in the second verse, the three vastly different scenarios meet their unique perspectives over the perfect combination of harmony, slapping into the addictiveness of the melody that lines the chorus to instantly have you raising your half full cups into the air with one hand while placing your arm around the best friend who is standing right there next to you:

“Thank God for drinkin’ buddies

They could make a bad day better

Yeah, them drinkin’ buddies

You know we tip ‘em all back together

Downtown clowns in the neon light

Out in the sticks on a Saturday night

They always got your back

When your wallet runs out of money

Thank God for drinkin’ buddies

Thank God for drinkin’ buddies”

Coming off the heavier aura of the incredible “Save The Roses,” Brice and company have encompassed the good time, good side of life in a spotlighting thank you to those who unapologetically stand by your side through thick and thin. Couple that commonality trait with an anthem induced style that perfectly suits the warmer weather months that are falling upon us, and Lee Brice delivers what will undoubtably become the song that’s atop everyone’s summertime playlists.
