JILLIAN CARDARELLI - I Hate Chevys - Vydia

Massachusetts native and rising singer-songwriter Jillian Cardarelli has released her first single of 2024, describing an overwhelming feeling of heartbreak in a creatively captivating manner with a little tongue-in-cheek, a little humor, and a whole lot of relatability.  “I Hate Chevys” is available now digitally and on all streaming platforms.

With aspiring songwriters at an all-time high across Music City and beyond, the burden and pressure to enhance once’s musical creativity is unprecedented here in the new year.  And yet, sophisticatedly musical intellects like Cardarelli continue to find new ways to tell stories. Simply put, her latest release is a breakup song.  Written by Jillian along with Arlis Albritton and Ben Rue, “I Hate Chevys” takes a nonsensical approach to the topic, however, accurately depicting the manifestation that one can experience when faced with intense feelings of sadness and grief.

“It’s always fun to share a different take on a heartbreak song, When your heart is aching after a breakup, something simple can remind you of them that stops you in your tracks,” Jillian shared.  “What’s unique is that the character in this song wants to blame Chevrolet’s popularity and reliability for her pain, but what we all know is that it’s really about those everyday reminders of someone we’re missing that sting the most.  And by the way, I love Chevy’s.”

“I Hate Chevys” follows the creatively-penned “If I Could Talk To Elvis,” as well as her well-regarded cover of “Walking In Memphis”.  Other notable tunes from 2023 included “Could’ve Been A Boy” and “Country Side”, and since the release of her self-titled EP in 2021 with the lead single “What’s It Gonna Take”, Jillian has been making a name for herself as one of the bright new starlets on the up-and-coming country music scene.

As an independent artist, Cardarelli has established herself as a well-respected singer and songwriter, collaborating with well-respected names in the industry and consistently achieving impressive accolades in recent years.  Her debut single, “Rerun,” written by Grammy Award-winning artist Maren Morris, Tina Parol and Jordan Reynolds, spent two weeks at #1 and several weeks in the top 10 on CMT Music.

A gifted, intuitive songwriter and a beautiful vocal delivery have collectively paved a path for Jillian Cardarelli to continue her escalation up the ranks of country music notoriety.  “I Hate Chevys” is the latest installment in a constantly-evolving catalogue of music that collectively illustrates the unique and undeniable talent of this fast-rising songstress.
