Jay Allen has made a name for himself amongst fans, fellow artists, and industry representatives through his heartfelt lyrics, infectious melodies, and determination to his craft as a singer, songwriter, and performer.  In addition, he has used his musical platform to connect with people on a personal level, raising awareness, and making a difference in people’s lives in more ways than one.

Undoubtedly, Allen’s music is making a difference and he has tackled some heavy subjects through his catalogue.  However, one of the great elements of country music is its ability to touch someone in every situation, from happiness to sadness, from anger to grief, and everything in between. 

For Allen, his latest single, “Jello Shot”, is a perfect fit for summer and a time to roll the windows down, dance, and party.  It’s a musical release that we all need at this time of year - a carefree party anthem to enjoy with friends, family, or having a dance party in your room.

I can taste that grey goose in it

The toe-tapping drum beat perfectly accompanies the lusciously smooth guitar melodies through the sing-along lyrics.  Influenced by a special night out with his now wife, “Jello Shot” is an unapologetic anthem of happiness and fun.  In a world that is so serious so often, this track serves as a reminder that it’s OK to have a good time, to relax, and to enjoy the moment.

Growing up near Cedar Falls, IA, Allen made the move to Nashville to pursue his music career in 2013.  Signing a publishing deal in 2014 and securing an artist deal with SONY/ATV in 2016 led to the career-altering release of his hit single, “Blank Stares”.  From there, he continued to move the needle becoming a viral sensation on social media while also garnering national spotlight through his appearance on Season 22 of The Voice last year. 

In addition to a signing a new record deal with ONErpm and releasing new music, Allen is making 2023 a year to remember on the road as well.  He currently has dates scheduled at fairs, festivals, and venues across the country and beyond into November.
