There are two different sides to country music superstar Luke Combs when it comes to his music.

There’s the hard-nosed, swampy, gritty country that we heard on songs such as “Beer Never Broke My Heart” and “Cold As You.” But then there’s also the softer, more sentimental side that we get on songs such as “Forever After All” and “Better Together.”

With “Tomorrow Me” currently impacting radio charts, and his highly anticipated third album Growin’ Up due out on June 24, 2022, Combs offers his next official radio single just ahead of the album release with “The Kind of Love We Make”

A softer side to Luke Combs is certainly nothing new, however, a purely sexy tilt that is a recall to the early 2010’s decade of country music where passionately driven songs ran the airwaves is a bit of a new feel on Combs, which makes this song so intriguing.

Written by Luke with Jamie Davis, with Dan and Reid Isbell, Combs paints the perfect picture through the first verse that hints at the night in that he wants to have with his better half, singing of cancelling their going out plans due to needing some alone time since they’ve been burning the candle at both ends lately.

He heats up his flirtatious pleas of wanting a night in alone with her more by praising how good she looks and how much she’s turning him on, which is leaving him wanting nothing more than to see her red dress hitting the floor.

The chorus shifts away some, though not entirely, from his pleading for a night in making love, by using a few lines with vivid visual details to speak at how he plans to set the mood:

Let’s get some candles burning and some records turning

All the lights down low, take it nice and slow

Steamy, sexy love songs in country music really aren’t anything new, but this is such a different look for Luke Combs, and he delivers a perfect song to resonate with couples as they dance in their kitchens, before dancing down the hallway.

Combine that freshness from him in the lyrics with his unmistakable heartfelt vocals, signature style, and  his country music status, and Combs is surely going to notch his next #1 with this song at radio, while giving the album another dose of tremendous hype.
