CARLY PEARCE - my place - Big Machine Records

Country music superstar Carly Pearce continues to tease the industry with samples from her highly-anticipated upcoming fourth studio album, ‘Hummingbird’.  The Grammy, CMA, and ACM award-winning songstress has unveiled her latest track, “my place,” which is available now digitally and on all streaming platforms via Big Machine Records.

While on the road, Carly teased the tune which immediately resonated with audiences and became a fan favorite, sparking anticipation for its release.

As is the case with all of her music, the song has a special place in the Kentucky native’s heart, drawn from her thoughts and feelings centered around a past relationship.

“I wrote this song about a dream I had long before the relationship I was in ended, but I knew that it would,” said Pearce.  “It’s hard to watch people move on and realize your heart can’t live there anymore, but that realization is the beginning of the healing process.”

Of all the venerable qualities of Carly and her music, perhaps the most admirable is her ability to convey the emotions she felt at one time and implement them into a song that not only applies to her but reverberates in the hearts and minds of millions of listeners of all ages.  The lyrics are poetic, the musical arrangement is beautifully somber yet vulnerability inspirational, while Pearce’s vocals dip and soar at all the right moments and invoke the ebb and flow of feelings, from grief, anger, and heartbreak to humility, hope, and healing.

“It ain’t my place

To question if there’s someone fillin’ my space

Ain’t my business tryna picture 4 by 6’s with her in ‘em

If she does things that I didn’t

Wonderin’ what the hell I’m wonderin’ for

It ain’t my place ‘cause it ain’t my place anymore”

Due for a June 14th release, ‘Hummingbird’ was produced by Pearce along with Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne.  The 14-track collection represents Carly’s first effort as a co-producer, and having co-written all but one song, it truly represents a new chapter in the award-winning singer-songwriter’s career.

Following the monumental success of her last studio album, ’29: Written In Stone,’ ‘Hummingbird’ includes the record’s title track, as well as “Country Music Made Me Do It” and “Heels Over Head”.  The Grammy-nominated, Top 20 single “We Don’t Fight Anymore” featuring Chris Stapleton continues to make waves on the charts and on radio.

And even though she has undoubtedly found her niche as one of the truly gifted talents in country music and a limitless ceiling of success is ahead of her, she continues to grow as a singer and artist, testing the boundaries of the genre while simultaneously challenging herself as a songwriter and as an artist.
