LILY ROSE - True North - Big Loud/Back Blocks Music/Republic Records

After achieving unforgettable feats in 2023, including appearing on NBC’s The Voice and ABC’s Good Morning America, as well as touring with the likes of Sam Hunt and Shania Twain, Lily Rose has her eyes set on taking her career to even greater heights in 2024. 

The undeniably talented singer-songwriter is set to release a new collection of music later this spring, and in anticipation of the release, she has made a new tune available now.  “True North” is available digitally and on all streaming platforms via Big Loud Records.

Written by Rose along with Trannie Anderson, Hillary Lindsey, and David Garcia, “True North” is one of two songs made available in advance of the forthcoming six-song ‘Runnin’ Outta Time’ EP, due Friday May 10^th.

“All I’ve ever wanted to do is write and perform songs just like these”, Rose said.  “In my opinion, these six songs are the most honest and accurate to who I am as an artist, and it doesn’t happen without a creative village that believes I have something special to say to the world.  I can’t wait for ya’ll to hear what I’ve been working on.”

Cleverly-laced with themes of nostalgia and vulnerability, “True North” is a showcase for Rose’s signature vocals from start to finish.  Taking on the negative connotation of the age-old saying, “when it all goes south”, the tune crafts its way into the heart and mind of the listener with use of vivid imagery, poetic inferences, and metaphoric lyrical extrapolations.

Sometimes I’m a diesel

Runnin’ on empty on a long stretch of black

East, west, left, up, down, right

Don’t change where I point my headlights”

Lily has been revered as a gifted songwriter and singer for quite awhile at this point, but her ability to put those two talents together on a stage and on a record, for some reason, has only been noticed by the wide-spread country music community recently.  Her music as a whole, as well her releases individually, consistently incorporate all of the elements we have come to know, love, and expect from her and her music, from her trademark twangy delivery to craftily detailed lyrics.

“True North” is one of two new tunes released in anticipation of ‘Runnin’ Outta Time’, as is also the track “Parking Lot”, written by Rose along with Lindsay Rimes and John Pierce; also made available on all streaming platforms.

A gifted songwriter and a brilliantly-unique singer, Lily has always been a breath of fresh air in the country music genre, and with this first preview of an upcoming collection of new music, she seems to have taken her artistry to an even more-impressive level as she enters the next chapter of her career.  The Georgia native is wrapping her extensive run with Hunt on the road before joining Cole Swindell and Luke Bryan on their respective tours later this year.
