GEORGE BIRGE - It Ain't Austin - RECORDS Nashville

2024 is setting up to be an unforgettable and career-altering year for George Birge.  Currently on the road appearing on select dates of Parker McCollum’s BURN IT DOWN TOUR, the Texas native will be a special guest on Luke Bryan’s MIND OF A COUNTRY BOY TOUR later this summer.  Further, his breakout debut, “Mind On You”, reached the #1 spot on country radio, taking the young singer-songwriter’s career to the next level.

Now, just days before his new EP drops to the masses, Birge is releasing a brand-new song.  “It Ain’t Austin” is available both digitally and on all streaming platforms now.

Co-written by Birge along with Paul DiGiovanni and Joe Clemmons, the swaying country ballad explores the common themes of nostalgia, heartbreak, and remorse in a musically-timeless intwining of bliss and repentance.

This is a beautifully crafted tune, with the classic sound perfectly backing George’s effortlessly tender vocal approach as he croons his way though the love tragedy of a past relationship that still lingers in his mind and his heart.  As he tries to move on and start fresh with someone new, he is constantly reminded of what he had, what he lost, and what he didn’t realize he had until it was too late.

“It ain’t Austin, it ain’t us

It ain’t three months in love, tequila-drunk in a Texas sun

It ain’t front row on an ACL high

It ain’t last-call kissing in the rain under 6th Street lights

Mighta met somebody new, yeah, we kinda started talking

But she ain’t you and it ain’t Austin”

Still so early in his career yet recognized and respected for his relatable lyrics and smooth and wistful melodies, Birge’s songwriting talents are on full display from start to finish with another track that adds to his increasingly impressive music catalogue.

Fresh off a coveted New Faces Of Country Music showcase appearance at the 2024 Country Radio Seminar in February, Birge is releasing a new song as his current single continues to pick up steam at country radio.  “Cowboy Songs” became one of the most-added songs at country radio when it was released earlier this month.

“It Ain’t Austin” serves as a preview of George’s upcoming ‘Cowboy Songs EP’, scheduled for release on April 5th via RECORDS Nashville.
