MACKENZINE PORTER - Bet You Break My Heart - Big Loud Records

The new single from Canadian singer-songwriter and fast-rising country starlet Mackenzie Porter is a down-to-earth, girl-next-door account of the internal struggle we have all experienced in the face of an imperfect relationship.  “Bet You Break My Heart” is now available digitally and on all streaming platforms via Big Loud Records.

“Heartbreak is something we all experience”, Porter said.  “We’ve all fallen for someone or something knowing it would probably end up hurting us.  Taking that risk is both the most exciting and scary feeling, and I love that this song is able to put words to the back and forth you have in your head throughout those types of relationships”.

The actress-country pop sensation melodically dances her way through a mid-tempo tale of the emotional skirmish of a relationship that is probably doomed for failure but is seen as irresistible and inevitable.  Written by Mark Holman, Chris Tompkins, and Travis Wood, this is a modern pop-country head-bobber and toe-tapper that showcases its singer’s girl-next-door demeanor coupled with her jaw-dropping, powerhouse vocals.

“Bet you break my heart

Bet you wreck my summer

Get me falling like a phone call to Momma think I love him

Bet them goodbye lights on that white 4Runner

Fading off in the dark gonna hit me like a Louisville slugger

You’re trouble for me, boy I can already see it

Like it’s written in the neon stars

I bet you break my heart”

Most of the country music world was formally introduced to Porter via her duet with Dustin Lynch on the six-week US No. 1 hit “Thinking ‘Bout You”.  With the look, sound, and charisma of a future star, Mackenzie is building undeniable anticipation for her upcoming full-length debut with Big Loud Records, currently slated for a 2024 release.

The Nashville-based songstress made herself a household name in her home country of Canada, becoming the first female this century to have six NO. 1 songs at Canadian country radio.  Her standout tunes “Pickup” and “These Days” not only proved to be crossover hits to the pop genre, but also garnered her well-deserved buzz and recognition in the U.S. in Music City and beyond.

Porter recently wrapped up headlining tour across Canada, which followed support runs across the world with Blake Shelton, Kenny Chesney, and Brad Paisly, among others.  With a new album on the precipice and excitement and anticipation at an all-time high, Mackenzie is gearing up for what is expected to be a career-changing year in 2024.
