BECCA BOWEN - County Line - Independent Release

West Columbia, SC native Becca Bowen has wowed us with her voice, and impressed us with her performing bravado.  Now, with her latest single, she is demanding our respect for her songwriting and storytelling ability.  “County Line,” a tale of the highs and lows of chasing your dreams, is available digitally and on all streaming platforms now.

As we all know, first impressions aren’t everything, and in fact, are rarely accurate.  In the case of Bowen, many of us were first introduced to her as a glamorous powerhouse vocalist.  And while no one can deny her vocal prowess, range, and flexibility, there is much more to this young artist.  She is a gifted singer-songwriter with a lot to say and a lot share, and her journey from her hometown to Nashville is a story she’s ready to share.

“I wrote the song ‘County Line’ with Sam Woods; it’s more vulnerable than my earlier releases,” Becca said.  “It’s about finding the courage to leave your hometown to start a new life.  Or, in my case, chase a dream that led me to Music City.”

The talented songstress wears her heart on her sleeve as she beautifully articulates her own personal experiences while trying to navigate her way through the ups and downs of a recording artist’s artist in one of the most competitive musical markets in the world.

Her lyrical approach is honest and vulnerable, inviting the listener into her heart and her mind as she struggles internally and externally with the trials and tribulations all aspiring artists face while trying to find their place in the industry.  The chorus takes the song to the next level, as Becca shares her father’s advice while leaving us speechless with her vocal control, power, and confidence.

Feeling irrelevant

Gotta chase you dreams if you wanna leave your mark

And that all starts when you cross that county line”

In February 2023, Bowen commanded the attention of country music fans and critics alike with the release of her confidently sassy and true-story scandal, “Son Of A Gun.”  Since then, she has also brightened her star and heightened the industry’s expectations of her potential with subsequent releases “If I’m Being Honest” and now with “County Line”. 

As she continues to add to her musical catalogue with impressive new singles, fans are pining for a follow-up to her 2022 debut album, ‘Like You’ve Never Been Loved.’.  “County Line” is expected to serve as the title track of an upcoming EP due early next year.
