BELLES - Loving You Feels Like - Independent Release
Belles is having a BIG year with not only the release of her newest EP The Way You Break A Heart, but also with hot song releases “Girl Crazy” and “Break Up With Your Ex.” And if her year weren’t already big enough, she’s now released her brand-new single “Loving You Feels Like” just as her first headlining tour is about to begin.
When you and your best friend are of the opposite sex, and you run around with each other so much that you can complete each other’s sentences, it’s only natural that you’re going to develop a crush. This is exactly where we find Belles on “Loving You Feels Like.”
The ultra-catchy melody perfectly encompasses her feelings of absolute bliss, leaning into an instrumentation drive through each of the verses that continually builds on the excitement as she presses toward the chorus while running through different scenarios of why they are so perfect for one another, reasoning that:
“I already know that you cry when you laugh
How you smile when you’re mad
And you’re so bad with names”
-And-
“I already know how much missing you hurts
When you leave your sweatshirt in the passenger seat”
Continuing to perfectly straddle the pop and country genre lines, expertly satisfying both sides without crossing over to one or the other, the playful chorus then brings all her emotions straight to the forefront so that it’s undeniably clear what she’s wanting from him as she fully admits that she’s done pretending like all she wants to be is really good friends:
“I wanna know what kissing you tastes like
How it sounds when you say it for the first time
Can’t you see when you’re looking into my eyes
I wanna know what loving you feels like”
By grabbing hold of such a relatable scenario and fusing it with an addictive melody and pure innocence embedded into her vocals that perfectly holds tightly to the nervously optimistic feels wrapped within the lyric, Belles has delivered a pure bop that places down another strong building block on her path as she steps forward, yet again, with a song that will absolutely stay stuck in your head long after its final notes are played.
