Named as one of CMT’s Next Women of Country, Black River Entertainment recording artist MaRynn Taylor has continued to ride the momentous buzz she initially created with “I Know A Girl” and “Every Single Summer” through the recent release of her very well received radio single “Make You Mine” and the fan favorite “01.”

She’s now swerving from the mid-tempo comfort zone that we’ve grown accustomed to from her, striking us with a purely addictive, up-tempo bop, “Shakin’ In My Boots.”

The song, co-written by Taylor with Dan Wilson and Ava Suppelsa, carries a summery vibe within’ it’s toe-tapping, clap along melody while perfectly allowing for MaRynn’s sugary sweet, girl next door vocals to pull the listener into the playfully flirtatious single.

The crisp, clean guitar lick immediately attracts attention when it drops through the intro as Taylor then sets the entire song in motion with its opening line, “I get a little weak when you step into Lucchese’s.”

She continues to metaphorically fan herself through the opening verse, confessing that he’s making her come undone while relaying that it doesn’t really matter where they “dance” because he always knows exactly what to do to get her “shakin’ in her boots.”

Popping the chorus, she perfectly matches her vocals to the tempo shift to encompass just how revved up he can make her get, singing:

“Shakin’ in my boots”

Stomping on the 2 and 4

Boy you know to me any where’s a dance floor

Spinning me around in a party crowd, country sound

Got my heart racing never comin’ down

You know exactly what to do to get me

Shakin in my boots, shakin in my boots”

Continuing to spell out the idea that it doesn’t matter where, she uses the second verse to dig deeper into the fact that it doesn’t even matter what music it is, lamenting that it could be the song of the crickets or a record spinning on a vintage Victrola, as she impressively elevates her vocal to the forefront, holding the end line note when she exclaims, “Just one look from you, I know you know!”

MaRynn Taylor has been a very exciting young talent to watch rising through the ranks over the past year as she’s been very consistent with each song she’s released. She really lets loose more than we’ve heard from her before on “Shakin’ In My Boots,” giving us an ultra-catchy song that’s not only a perfect fit for the Friday night dancehall playlist, but also one that sets her at the starting line to breaking through in a big big way!
