When Australia’s Lily Grace made the ambitious decision to pursue her music dreams by moving across the pond to Nashville, she surrounded her journey with the optimistic, up-tempo anthem “Follow My Road,” skillfully taking two major steps forward on her path as she offered a striking glimpse into what her next exciting chapter will hold.

Acclimating herself quickly in the songwriting community of Music City, she’s continued to move through the paces, keeping busy with writing sessions, recording new music, and performing at high-profile gigs that have recently included an in the round performance at the iconic Bluebird Café.

She now gives us her first new release since landing in Nashville with “Bet On Us.”

Highlighting the ultra-modern, pop country sound she’s known for, the mid-tempo flare holds tightly to its float on the breeze melody, perfectly embracing the bliss of the carefree, rolling the dice on young love tone of the lyric despite any of the negativity that people are saying about their budding relationship.

“Everybody’s telling me that we’ll never make it,” she sings to open the song and immediately sets in motion the outsider, pessimistic attitude that’s being thrown toward her and her crush; an attitude which she’ll reiterate later in the song as well when she sings, “they don’t understand it, so they make assumptions about us.”

But while in some ways she is coming straight at the naysayers who are telling her that they’re relationship is doomed, the underlying depth to the lyric sits in the fact that this is just as much a reassurance to him that says they will in fact make it because she’s 100% committed and is willing to place her bet on them, as we see when she confidently punches the chorus:

“I wanna feel your heartbeat on me every single day

Wanna feel you’re loving every which way

They don’t got to tell us what we know and we don’t

Well maybe we’re just kickin’ up dust

I put my bet on us”

From “Two of Us Meet” to “Follow My Road,” and now with “Bet On Us,” Lily Grace has been very consistent with hitting her target demographic with age-appropriate lyrics that match exactly where she’s at in her life, aptly elevating her game with each new release while skillfully pulling out more and more of her signature feels through her growth as a gifted songwriter to give her defining characteristics to stand out in a crowded country music scene.
