“How Far Do You Wanna Go”

“Wanna Take You Home”

Those are some of the hits that Gloriana impacted with the last time you heard Mike Gossin and Cheyenne Kimball bringing their voices together in a blend that was as refreshing to the country music scene then as it is today with the release of Gossin’s latest single, “Let’s Ride,” which features his former bandmate in what is the first time in a decade that we get to hear this perfect melding of voices.

Laced over a catchy pop backbeat and infectious guitar riffs, the song, which is written and produced by Gossin, gives us a big sound that pulls in all the elements that make for great crossover smash as he fluidly walks the line between both the country and pop genres, dipping a toe into both arenas while never fully committing to either to give this song a truly unique flavor.

Over a groove that keeps you clapping with its beat, Gossin weaves us through the opening verse with what essentially plays out like a flirty phone conversation between him and his love interest (played by Kimball in this song) about getting together for a late night, moonlit drive down an old backroad out of town, because as he confesses, “Just wanna see you tonight.”

The chorus paints the picture of what that drive could look like, as he compares leaving town to finding their freedom as they go until they run out of gas and are together in the blue moonlight, her taking his heart.

The second verse then sees Kimball assuming her role in the conversation as she offers response, admitting that she’s missing him too and that she feels alive whenever they’re together, while aptly affirming that the heat between them grows with each mile, alluding to the reference made by Gossin that every time they kiss, it’s like the 4th of July.

What is so enduring about this song is that it never actually reveals that they get together to go for the drive, which in many ways is perfect as it connects that much more with the listener who has these same types of flirty, late-night conversations with their crush as they muse on what they want to be doing together instead of being on the phone.

Gossin initially turned heads and created a buzz with his debut solo release “Marry You,” giving us our first look at his forthcoming solo project that’s set to release in 2023…and he now cranks that buzz way up with “Let’s Ride” and will clearly become one to watch as his album will garner highly anticipated status amongst the country music critics and fans alike.
