(Interview by: Jeffrey Kurtis)

1) Tell us a little bit about what we can expect to hear when we hit play on your brand new single “Friend With A Beer.”

I hope it makes you want to leave work, go to the store, get a 12-pack, and call a buddy to hangout, haha.

2) You reconnected with Sherrie Austin and Will Rambeaux as co-writers on this song. There’s obviously a gel between the three of you. Take us into the writing room from your seat when you get to write with them.

When it comes to Sherrie and Will, they both have so much experience they bring into each write, and overall, they make you better as a writer. They are great and really take time to make sure things are right before just moving on.

3) Gavin Lee was also part of the co-writing team on this new tune. What aspects did Gavin bring into the writing room that really helped shape the song in ways that might not have otherwise been there?

While I’m not a writer on this song, when I was at Will's house, he started playing the song and I fell in love with it and said, "I’m cutting that song!"

4) This song follows “One More Night With You.” What do you feel are the most similar characteristics between “Friend With a Beer” and “One More Night With You,” but also what differences do you feel you’ll be showing with this new tune in comparison.

"One More Night With You," of course, is a more mid-tempo love song and "Friend With A Beer" is an up-tempo party song.

5) This is your seventh release of the year! WOW! When that much new music is being released, we’re always intrigued by what the marketing plan is behind that type of output. Can you fill us in on that plan and what your overall goals are with each release for when it all comes together?

I’m so adamant about building my brand. Your brand is everything. I want people to know when they hear Peyton Aldridge that you never know what to expect. You get a taste of rock and roll, Motown vibes and country. I like to keep people on their toes! haha.

6) Are these songs stand-alone singles for now, or will they be part of bigger project?

At this point, I’ve got so many new songs written and have recorded a lot, so you never know. Stay tuned!

7) Is there a song that you’re currently working on that you can’t wait for your fans to hear? And what is it about that song that you love so much?

I’ve got something in the works that I think is going to change the game. It’s something that nobody has done in a long time, and I think it’s time for me to bring it back. I can’t wait.

8) Having grown up in Mississippi, your music naturally carries a Delta Blues undertone within your country flavor. Talk about those roots and how you feel they help keep your sound fresh and unique.

It’s something I feel like you're born with if you're from this area. Haha, I call it “slinging southern slang” - may or may not be a song that me and my boy Stone Aielli  got cooking for y’all!

9) We obviously have to mention your turn on The Voice at this exact time last year. You ultimately were part of Team John Legend. What did being part of that show really teach you the most that you’re still carrying with you to this day?

It showed me that no matter where you come from or what you have been through, you can do what you want to do. Pursue that dream and just like Cody Johnson said, "If you got a chance, take it." That’s what I did and what I’m doing now.

10) We always like to end with this one since so many aspiring writers and artists read our website. What is one piece of advice can you offer to someone who is just starting out and trying to break into the music industry?

Work, work, work every single day. Nothing is going to be given to you. You’ve got to wake up every day and meet people and hustle your way because it's important to remember there are millions of people chasing the same thing you're chasing. If you don’t put in the work and grind, it may not happen. Thank the good Lord everyday through the good and bad. If there’s a will, there’s a way.
