LAURA BRYNA - Certified - LTD Entertainment

Though Laura Bryna has been making an impact on the country music scene for over a decade, her ability to continually reinvent herself has consistently opened exciting new chapters every step of the way, culminating with what has been hailed as her breakout hit this past fall, “Jawbreaker.”

She now returns with the rowdy, country rock anthem, “Certified.”

The song, co-written by Bryna, Josh Logan, and Kenny Fleetwood, embeds a clap along groove into the grittiness of the swampy rhythm to instantly hook the listener through the intro as the natural sass of her vocals arrive the moment she captivatingly starts to sing through the opening verse.

Addressing the “bad boy” who has just made eyes at her, she paints him as the type with a little devil in his eyes and as a cowboy who runs from the flashing lights, before striking the proverbial wink that says he’s just met his match in her when she sings, “buckle up baby, you better hold on tight.”

Hitting the fist-pumping chorus, she fully embraces her wild side through a complete owning of who she is within the descriptive lyrics while encouraging the rebel spirit that lives within’ all of us to come out to play:

“Cause I’m a wild ride, a little snake bite

I’m a bonafide do or die, I’m a stick of dynamite

Fist fight, got ya hypnotized

Little moonshine, two-time, burning down a Friday night

You say that you like to party

Well let me tell you a little something ‘bout me

Hey baby if you want crazy…I’m certified”

While the second verse namechecks Cash to pop the listener’s attention, the shredding guitars through the bridge add just the right fuel to the attitude of the song to push into the final chorus as she confidently punches it home.

Laura walks into this next chapter with an addictive swagger, injecting plenty of her personality into a tune that’s surely going to rise to the top of many empowering anthem playlists. However, where other empowering songs tend to put someone down to lift the other person up, Bryna expertly swerves that tired predictability to flirtatiously stand toe-to-toe in such a confident yet playful way that you embrace your own self-worth and unashamedly allow the real you to shine.
