Releasing six new songs every few months is certainly a tall task for any artist to tackle, let alone when each pack of songs represents a piece of the overall puzzle on a full spectrum concept album. But that’s exactly what hot rising talent Alana Springsteen has been doing throughout the first part of this year with her uber ambitious TWENTY SOMETHING project.

Starting in March with the ‘Messing It Up’ collection, Springsteen quickly rose to buzzworthy status on the back of “you don’t deserve a country song” and “goodbye looks good on you,” while continuing to ride the momentum wave into the summer as she further navigated the ups and downs of being caught between growing up and holding on to your youth with ‘Figuring It Out.’

“look i like” now gives us our first peek inside the third and final installment, ‘Getting it Right.’

The song, penned by Alana, Shane McAnnally and Pete Good, adds a bounce to her step as she continues to open her diary with a little something different than we’ve heard from her thus far, in that while the song still holds tightly to those awkward twenty-something feels, there’s optimism and hope wrapped into its fresh, stepping out lease on life.

With an intriguingly feel-good vibe embedded into the floaty intro of the song, Springsteen’s signature rasp filled whisper takes us straight into the breathtaking moment when the guy she describes as wearing a backwards hat, Levi jeans, and an Alabama t-shirt, first walked into the bar that she was at and immediately caught her attention.

Having been completely stopped in her tracks by him, she sings through a blushing, flustered tone in the chorus that he not only has the look she likes, but she also confesses her intentions with the hopes that he’s not there with somebody else.

Continuing with descriptive visuals of him in that bar scene moment, she continues to fight her heart’s flutter as she tries not to get lost in his brown eyes while lustfully staring at him leaning up against the bar, holding his whiskey glass just the way she likes.

Alana Springsteen has perfectly captured that awkward moment of wanting to talk to someone while simultaneously fearing rejection and embarrassment like so many of us have experienced, very realistically capturing the twenty something anxiety with much different flavor this go round.

Though she had already reached buzzworthy status, the last-minute stage change to the Riverfront for her performance during this past CMA Fest was a clear indication of how quickly Alana Springsteen has moved up through the country music ranks and is shifting her status into an artist who has arrived!

The final six song collection TWENTY SOMETHING: Getting It Right will complete the 18-track project and seal the deal on her debut album. It is scheduled for release on all streaming and download platforms on August 18, 2023.
