Multi-Platinum duo The Reklaws are back with a brand new single, one that has all the makings another hit for the Universal Music Canada recording artists.  “Honky Tonkin’ About” is available digitally and on all streaming platforms now.

The award-winning pair’s latest release features a very special guest, as Drake Milligan offers his trademark southern drawl and traditional country influence to a track that is a perfect 90’s throwback anthem for a night of line dancing at, well, the honky-tonks. 

“I was honored to get the call to be on my first ever feature with The Reklaws,” shares Drake.  “They are so much fun to work with.”

The mindset behind “Honky Tonkin’ About” came from the longing of the group to get back to playing live music and being on stage, which was abruptly and extensively halted during the lockdown in 2021 during the pandemic.

“We were trying to pull ourselves out of a funk one day during the pandemic so we sat down and thought about what we would want to party to at a honky tonk on a Friday night with our friends,” The Reklaws’ Stuart Walker says.  “From those daydreams, this song was born.”

The result is a feel-good, party-song that pays homage to the down-home country way of life, full of good times with close friends while meeting new people and living in the moment.  This tune is about having fun and doesn’t take itself too seriously, which is exactly what we, the listeners, want for a party song with the windows down on a weekend night.

The lyrics are cleverly crafted and effortlessly delivered, something we have all come to expect from both The Reklaws as well as Drake Milligan.  The fact that these incredibly talented artists joined forces put this song over the top.  From start to finish, “Honky Tonkin About” is a must listen and a future fan-favorite.

This has been an incredible year thus far for The Reklaws, who were nominated for five CCMA Awards and were also announced as the hosts for the event.  Their third No. 1 single, the Platinum-certified “11 Beers,” which features Jake Owen, helped introduce the award-winning duo to a whole new audience.  In addition to a slew of dates in their native Canada, the pair will also play select shows in the United States, including on October 21^st at Country Thunder Florida along with the likes of Cody Johnson, Keith Urban, and Hardy.
