Starstruck Entertainment artist Emily Ann Roberts is set to take the country music world by storm on September 22, the date of the release of her full-length album debut, ‘Can’t Hide Country’.  The talented singer-songwriter co-wrote all but one of the tracks on the 13-song set, which features collaborations with legends Ricky Skaggs and Vince Gill.

As anticipation escalates leading up to the release of ‘Can’t Hide Country’, Roberts is giving us another glimpse into the project’s material with her latest single, “Chickens”.  The playful, uniquely captivating tune was penned by Emily along with Trent Willmon and Jeremy Spillman, and is available digitally and on all streaming platforms now.

As has been the case with most new artists, Emily’s past music has featured elements of the pop country sound of today’s modern scene.  However, the impending release of ‘Can’t Hide Country’ serves as a transition to a more traditional sound with influences with which she grew up.

“Chickens” is anything but a conventional love song, but it does showcase the elements of bluegrass and folk that are reminiscent of the classic traditional country music of years past.  The lyrics are wittingly clever and Emily delivers with her sassy southern charm and country girl honest persona that helps put this tune over the top.

It’s fun, energetic, and catchy, and an easy toe-tapping, head-bopping good time perfect for singing along and line-dancing.  It is incredibly refreshing to witness new music from a young talented artist who is paying homage to the traditions of a genre’s past while also incorporating her own flare and signature sound to make her music truly one of a kind.

Ain’t no dreaming under these covers

Ain’t no keeping hands off of each other

Wake up in the morning tired as the dickens

Even though we go to bed with the chickens”

The national audience was first introduced to Roberts during her run on NBC’s “The Voice” in 2015, but that seems like a distant memory to country music fans.  While the experience on the popular show opened doors and opportunities for her, the talent and potential of this songstress has only blossomed in the years since.  With the release of highly renowned tunes including “He Set Her Off” and “Infinity” among others, she has tallied more than 25 million streams while being recognized as one of the more memorable performers at the nation’s biggest country festivals.

In addition to a new single and an upcoming album, Emily is keeping busy on the road as well, with dates scheduled across the country, including gigs in Ohio, Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas, and California, from now through November.
