As “Dance With You,” which has already earned more than 23 million streams, is set to impact country radio this week, Brett Young has just announced his highly-anticipated fourth studio album Across The Sheets (due out August 4, 2023) and has offered his fans another sneak peek of it with “Back To Jesus.”

The song, written by Brett with Justin Ebach and Jon Nite, focuses on that time-stopping moment when that one special person unexpectedly enters your life and completely changes everything in it as their pure heart and unconditional love makes you rediscover your own faith.

The tempo that drives through the verses and into the lift of the chorus perfectly accents the lyrics by grabbing hold of the hard-to-explain emotion of overwhelming amazement as his newfound changes wash over him in such a precise way that they leave him in complete awe.

Spelling out the specifics that steered him back toward his faith and Jesus, Young sings on each of the verses:

“I found grace, when she forgave me when she shouldn't”

“I learned faith, every time she shoulda left me, but she stayed”

“I learned peace, the first time she refused to fight with me”

Further admitting that now whenever he prays, he’s offering up prayers of thanksgiving, Brett then expertly pushes into the chorus by lifting eureka moment realizations to the spotlight:

“Sometimes miracles are more than making wine from water

Sometimes angels come to earth as sisters, mothers, daughters

I don't know how but somehow she loves me the way that He does

Yeah she loved, loved, loved this sinner back to Jesus”

Lacing the lyrics with Biblical references helps to enhance the power of them throughout the touching tribute to his wife and his rediscovered faith, but by skillfully tagging the two “Amen’s” to the end, you get an intriguingly dynamic shift that turns this showering of praise into a heartfelt prayer from the bottom of his thankful heart.
