Having grown up a fan of rock and heavy metal, Travis Denning’s country sound is entrenched with the head banging, foot stomping guitar driven hooks and melodies that make everyone want to move.  His latest track, “Call It Country”, hits hard and fast, delivering a powerful punch from the opening chords.

Previously opening for the likes of Dustin Lynch, Cole Swindell, and Alan Jackson, Denning is hitting is readying himself to hit the road this summer with Brothers Osborne, and a song like “Call It Country” is the soundtrack anthem for what fans can expect when they see him live.

With lines like “We ain’t got it all but we got it damn good” and “We hunt, fish, drink, burn shit, cuss, pray, all in that order”, this track is a throwback to the redneck battle cries of years past, which seem a distant memory in today’s pop-influence on the genre.

Ten years ago, a number like “Call It Country” may be forgotten in the midst of the bro-country surplus, but today, it offers a refreshing retreat for the all-too familiar sounds of modern country.  After all, who doesn’t like to rock out a little bit every now and then?
