Possessing one of the most distinctively gifted voices in the underground country circuit today, Caitlyn Smith puts those vocals on full display with her latest release, “Downtown Baby”.

A subdued verse gives way to an eruption of a powerhouse chorus, which is what Smith has become known for during her short stint in her ever-increasing presence in the mainstream country world.

Co-written by Smith along with Gordie Sampson, Thomas Salter, Simon Wilcox and Ryan Gore, and released via Monument Records, “Downtown Baby” is an upbeat, breezy track that is a care-free, sing-along tune perfect for a night out on the town.

I’m blinded by the buzzin’ lights and adolescent appetites

I’m singing K-Pop karaoke, thanking God no one here knows me

Laughing on a late-night bus, nightmares and angel dust

And I look at you and you know what, there’s no one here but us

For those new to the career of Caitlyn Smith, she made a name for herself in the industry long ago as a songwriter, penning tunes for the likes of the biggest names in the industry, including Jason Aldean, Rascal Flatts, Garth Brooks, and more.

“Downtown Baby” follows “I Can’t”, which featured Old Dominion and was apart of her ‘Supernova’ record.  It is included on the 8-track project ‘High’, due for release on April 8th, while a full album is rumored to be in the works for later this year.
