With “Chasing After You,” Ryan Hurd’s duet with his wife Maren Morris, continuing to stay steady in the Top 20 on the Mediabase Country Airplay chart, combining with the summery vibes of his last release “Coast,” his buzzworthy status over the past few months is catapulting to exciting new heights and he’s ready to strike while the iron’s hot with the release of his newest song “June, July, August.”

When a teaser of the song appeared on popular social media outlet Instagram, Hurd instantly captured the interest of thousands upon thousands of the country music faithful, and he has had them chomping at the bit for the full song for the better part of the past few weeks – which he has now released to fans on all streaming music platforms.

Staying in the lane of the summery vibe, Hurd paints the perfect picture of the sun and the sand as he outlines all the details of the summer fling that made the warmer weather months so good; from namechecking Kenny Chesney when he recounts, “singing Kenny Chesney by a hotel pool,” to singing  through a list of the specifics that includes her working at AJ’s, him working a chair rental place, making a bar by the beach with his cooler, and so forth.

However, as summer tilted as this song is, Hurd flips the script as we roll out of the first verse when he sings the line, “It don’t take much and I’m right back there,” instantly setting the tone for the song that is more so bent toward looking back on June, July, and August as fall is creeping in to take summer’s place and leave the fling behind in its wake.

Hurd’s amazing songwriting abilities are well on display as he sings us through great lines that compare the summer fling to what it feels like to have a permanent tattoo, while lamenting back on the heavenly sunrise they watched on August 28th at 6AM, the last one they’d see together.

As Ryan Hurd asks, “Can’t It Be Summer Forever,” he quickly tells me that this is the perfect timing to give this song to his fans. We’re all holding onto whatever last shreds of summer we can right now, but inevitably watching it slip into fall, and “June, July, August” is the perfect companion to sit alongside of us as we helplessly watch everything change.
