Simply put, “Never Wanted To Be That Girl” is going to be a number one song.  The new track featuring Carly Pearce and Ashley McBryde, promises to be slam-dunk chart-topper and is well on its way after an incredible initial impact on country radio.

Pearce and McBryde have been well respected and renowned up-and-coming singer-songwriters for years in Music City, but that seems like ages ago.  Both have come into their own, and are taking the country music genre by storm.

They tag team on this tune, offering different perspectives on the subject of a lover’s betrayal.  Both deliver the message perfectly with the absolute emotional substance the topic deserves.  The song was co-written by Pearce and McBryde along with co-producer Shane McAnally, and is a sobering reminder of how quickly and unexpectedly a relationship can alter the course of the lives of all involved.

“Never Wanted To Be That Girl” is the third track from Pearce’s new record, 29: WRITTEN IN STONE, released on September 17 via Big Machine Records.

Pearce has been on the road all summer with Lady A and will embark on her own headlining “The 29 Tour” beginning in November.  McBryde’s schedule is jam packed as well, mixing it headlining dates with stops with Luke Combs on his tour this fall throughout the U.S. before heading overseas to the UK in the winter and spring of 2022.
