There’s no argument about it, Lily Rose is making tremendous strides and is quickly becoming one of country music’s most intriguing new artists as she’s consistently delivered solid song after solid song (“Villain,” “Know My Way Around,” “I Don’t Smoke”) which have all shown us the different layers as to who she is as an artist.

She now returns with “Stronger Than I Am,” her fifth release overall and the title track from her forthcoming project due out October 1, 2021.

Written by Griffen Palmer and Geoff Warburton, the softer pace allows Rose to add the necessary amount of tender soulfulness to uphold the lyrics which focus on trying to move past a heartache.

She takes us straight into the bar with her through the opening line of the song, “Bartender, hit me, I need a drink,” but this isn’t necessarily your typical drink away the pain type of song that country music is commonly associated with.

Instead, Rose shifts the lyrics to focus more on the bar being a last resort after trying everything else first: taking their pictures off the wall, distracting herself by working from dusk until dawn, calling all her friends, and even remembering the advice her dad would offer of “even the worst things get better with time.”

The chorus is brilliantly used like a mirror where we see Rose reflecting on all the positive things that she’s done in trying to overcome up to this point, but also transparently admitting that today has been a really tough day and she’s needing to turn to a drink that’s stronger than she is in this moment.

Every time we hear a new song from Lily Rose, we find ourselves saying that this one is even better than the last one, which was also amazing! This song is no exception to that.

Lily Rose has continuously proven that she is clearly the artist to be keeping an eye on, and you’re going to want to jump on the bandwagon now so you can say you were there first.
