DIERKS BENTLEY - Well, Well, Whiskey - Capitol Records Nashville

It is only a matter of weeks before the country music world is treated to a brand-new album and accompanying nationwide tour from Dierks Bentley, but the multi-Platinum singer-songwriter is offering perhaps one final preview of his upcoming 11-track collection.  “Well, Well, Whiskey” is available now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms, via Capitol Records Nashville.

Written by Seth Ennis, Devin Dawson and Jordan Reynolds, and featuring a solo by acclaimed guitarist Bryan Sutton, “Well, Well, Whiskey” finds Bentley returning to his bluegrass-tinged roots as he finds himself face-to-face with the bottle and all of the trouble it brings with a foot-stomping beat and standout guitar work.

“When I first heard ‘Well, Well, Whiskey,’ it made me think of my ‘Up On The Ridge’ album, which leaned heavily on the power of acoustic instruments.  I heard a lot of the same opportunity for the guys in the studio to contribute ideas and collaborate together in the same spirit of that earlier project,” Bentley said.  “There is nothing more fun than turning the musicians loose on a track like this and seeing what they come up with.  I definitely see this one making it into our live show this summer”.

Featuring his unique style of country music, with grooving drums, and spirited hooks alongside Bentley’s trademark vocal delivery, the crooningly-spirited mid-tempo number falls right in the wheelhouse of why we have loved the country star’s music for so many years, completed with the cleverly simplistic and deliberate lyrical anecdotes.

“Well, well, whiskey

Looks like we meet again

Well, well whiskey

What trouble we getting’ in?

No doubt that we ‘bout to end up

Back on rock bottom shelf

But it’s Friday night and it’s lookin’ like

Hell, we might as well, well, whiskey”

Serving as the third release off the new album, “Well, Well, Whiskey” follows “Cold Beer Can” and “She Hates Me”, with the latter climbing into the Top 30 at country radio, which marked the biggest radio debut of Bentley’s career.

‘Broken Branches’, Dierks’ 11th studio album, is due out everywhere on June 13th.  Kicking off on May 29th in Austin, TX, the record’s accompanying ‘Broken Branches Tour’ will feature support from rising country star Zach Top and new Warner Music duo The Band Loula.

Continuing the path built from the ground up, as an entrepreneur, he has opened four locations of the gastropub and live music venue “Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row,” has a Flag & Anthem lifestyle collection "Desert Son” and recently released ROW 94 – a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey crafted with only “three ingredients and the truth” at Kentucky’s Green River Distilling Co.

Beginning with his debut single and instant-classic hit “What Was I Thinkin’” in 2003, Bentley’s career has produced eight Number One albums, 22 Number One songs, more than nine billion global streams, plus 15 GRAMMY® nominations and membership in the historic Grand Ole Opry.
