Co-written by Birge with Matt Dragstrem, Chase McGill, and Michael Tyler, the vivid anthem continues Birge’s run of authentic emotional storytelling, offering a swirling soundtrack of longing for the everyday simplicity of small-town life.

Embodying the picturesque down-to-earth lifestyle, the dream of working hard, playing harder, and valuing family, friends, and traditional morals and beliefs is at the forefront of this dream-turned-into-reality ode to the country boy way of life.

Still so early in his career yet recognized and respected for his relatable lyrics and smooth and wistful melodies, Birge’s songwriting talents are on full display from start to finish with another track that adds to his increasingly impressive music catalogue. 

Meanwhile, producers Daniel Ross and Matt Dragstrem bring “Back In The Country” into high-definition, capturing the magnetic pull of a peaceful rural life. Slated as his second release of the year, “Back In The Country” follows “It Won’t Be Long,” his current Top 40-and-counting single.

Birge hit #1 at country radio with “Cowboy Songs,” after reigning the charts with his debut #1, “Mind On You,” which landed on the Billboard all-genre Hot 100 list and is from his debut album, ‘George Birge: Mind On You’. Boasting over 170 million global streams across his catalog, he was named Billboard’s Country Rookie of the Month for January 2024 and one of Nashville Lifestyles’ “Artists You Need To Know.” 

Having previously shared the stage with the likes of Gary Allan, Luke Bryan, Brantley Gilbert, Sam Hunt, Parker McCollum, Scotty McCreery, and Jake Owen, among others, Birge is currently on the road supporting Dylan Scott on his “Country Till I Die Tour” before serving as direct support for Bryan on his “Country Song Came On Tour” this summer.
