NOAH THOMPSON - What You're Made Of - Independent Release

Following the stunning transparency of this past January’s “Here Lately,” Noah Thompson continues to open his diary with his newest release, “What You’re Made Of,” unashamedly revealing pages inked with his struggles while ultimately weaving inner healing through raw vulnerability and heart striking, emotional bends.

A guiding melody laces the airy production throughout the intro to exquisitely capture the essence of an anxiety ridden tussle that finds its chaotic balance between the extreme calmness of feeling nothing at all while sitting on the edge that teeters breaking at any moment.

Using each of the verses to outline the struggles that he’s faced (and still faces), Thompson compassionately spotlights how our unique frays all bear similarity, walking hand-in-hand while providing a stamp on the understanding that you’re not alone in your fight with anxiety, fear, panic, etc.

Admitting that he himself has let the world get the best of him, that he’s lost his way at times, and that he’s most often his own worst enemy in the battlefield of his mind, Noah doesn’t approach the delicacy of our fractured hearts from a place of I’ve been there before ego, but he rather comes with a gentle, peer-to-peer perspective that reassures he’s standing with you in the murky waters of the right here and now.

We see a softly lined eureka moment begin to shine as he slides into the chorus, arriving at a faith-led philosophy that naturally comes when you begin to trust God’s path for you, embracing the truth the Psalmist states in Psalm 23:4 that God doesn’t move you out of your troubles but that he walks through them with you.

“The path to heaven ain’t paved in gold

The devil knows where you want to go

Get knocked down, dust yourself off, keep on walking

You’ll crash and burn, love and learn

Ain’t worth a damn if it don’t hurt

One day you’re flying the very next you’re falling

I guess what doesn’t break you sure is bound to make you

Find out what you’re made of”

Lines of inspirational hope filtered throughout the song hold tightly to you like a hand reaching out for yours to help leverage you up the mountain side your climbing, “we learn as we go,” “all good things take time,” and “You can’t lose your faith, just hold on tight,” providing the mind tortured listener with something tangible to grip in their loneliest hours as “What You’re Made Of” becomes their light in the darkness.
