ALEX MILLER FT. EMILY ANN ROBERTS - More Country Than You- Billy Jam Records
Fast-rising music entertainer and soon-to-be country music household name Alex Miller has released his first new tune of 2025, and he’s brought along a very special guest. “More Country Than You” is available now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms, via Billy Jam Records.
A duet that is sure to be a fan-favorite from the very first listen, this nostalgia-inspired up-tempo tune features another fast-rising star, Emily Ann Roberts.
“It may be the countriest thing out there and I’m proud of it,” Miller said. “I hope everyone enjoys this one. It’s a new song, but it tips the hat to the great duets of the past. Emily Ann is a great friend, and I’m thrilled we’ve had this chance to sing together.”
Inspired by the classic duet partners in country music spotlight’s rearview, “More Country Than You” is a sassy tune from start to finish, complete with amusing lyrics and attitude to instill a vibe for listeners young and old.
“I can stack bales of hay
In a barn loft all day long
I can grab my old guitar
And sing you a Bocephus song
I wear Bass Pro hat
I like a Copenhagen chew
Girl, I think I’m a little more country than you”
Much like Miller, Roberts has the flare for a modern twist on the traditional side of the genre, which is an element that has her referenced as part of the mainstay of country music’s future for years to come. Her appreciation for the past and her vision for the future have fused together to create an approach to music that unveils itself in uniquely exquisite tunes like “More Country Than You”.
“We’ve always been kindred spirits because we’re young kids with hearts that beat for this music,” Roberts said. “We knew this one was something special and with all the back-and-forth banter it was a ton of fun to record. I hope folks get a laugh when they hear it.”
Playing off Miller’s lyrics with a verse of her own, Emily gives the attitude right back where it came from to create a fun, playful, banter.
“Well, I can bait my own hook
Put up my own deer stand
I squirrel my cash away
In a coffee can
My pair of Lucchese boots
Know how to boot scoot
Boy, I think I’m a little more country than you”.
Produced by Jerry Salley, “More Country Than You” will be included on Miller’s upcoming album for Billy Jam Records. Having officially moved to Nashville last May and made his debut on the Grand Ole Opry in June, he released his latest single, “She Makes Dirt Look Good,” which is currently impacting radio nationwide.
Roberts continues to make a name for herself with her unique blend of traditional country and bluegrass, having released her debut full-length album in late 2023, while hitting the road on Blake Shelton’s Back To The Honky Tonk Tour and Jamey Johnson’s What A View Tour. The CMT Next Women of Country 2024 class alum is poised to take her career to the next level in 2025.
