NOAH HICKS - Door's Unlocked - Nashville Harbor Records & Entertainment
With what has been a year of tremendous forward motion since signing his deal with Nashville Harbor Records & Entertainment, singer-songwriter Noah Hicks has seemingly used 2024 as a launching pad for setting up his next.
Taking his independent viral success and expanding his mainstream reach with hot collaborations “Dirt Roads Dirt” with Justin Moore and “Second Time Around” with Shaylen, he now follows his nostalgically turned “Nights Memories Stories” with a final mark on his incredible year.
“Door’s Unlocked” is available now on all streaming and digital platforms via Nashville Harbor Records & Entertainment.
“People always say that when it’s over, it’s over. But sometimes you find yourself wondering what would happen if you left that door open,” shares Hicks. “We wrote 'Door’s Unlocked’ about that in between where you’re looking to rekindle a bit of what got away – even if it’s just for one night – and hoping that the other person feels the same way.”
Co-written by Hicks, Paul DiGiovanni, Jeremy Stover and Cole Taylor, the softness of the ultra-modern backbeat pulses the flow of the missing her yearn that he embeds into the trails of his voice, carrying the emotional glide through what is essentially an open letter to his ex as she weighs heavy on his mind - and on his heart.
Nonchalantly balancing on the edges of wanting her to come back, there’s a powder keg of emotions burning within the coolness that he’s trying to maintain while heartbreakingly tracing each next line of the throwaway small talk so that they hold the truest depths of his needing her.
Simultaneously slapping a strike of guitars to lift the melodic fury of the instrumentation against the urgency of his voice, everything that he’s been holding inside wells up and boils over as he kicks into the chorus with an open-ended invitation through a cry-out pleading to her:
“The door’s unlocked if the truck’s in the driveway
The one you slammed when you said goodbye babe
Come on over, come on in
We can do what we do so good again
If you’re downtown drinking and you’re thinking about us
Whiskey wishing we could pick it back up
Slow roll, wrong turn right by my place
The door’s unlocked if the truck’s in the driveway”
Though never losing sight of who he is at his country boy heart but diligently expanding his overall aura with relatable themes that have pulled heightened intrigue from song-to-song, Noah Hicks has not only placed down a strong stamp at the end of this incredible year but has offered a memorable glimpse at what still lies ahead on what promises to be an even bigger 2025.
