TYLER BRADEN - Call Me First - Warner Music Nashville
Country powerhouse rocker Tyler Braden continues the exposure of the sentimentally-infused side of his musical personality with the release of his final song of 2024. “Call Me First” is available now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms, via Waner Music Nashville.
Written by Braden along with Sam Martinez, Cole Miracle, Zack Dyer, and John Robert Hall, the crooning tale uses mental health as its muse, ebbing and flowing its way through a proclamation for men to overcome the stigma of traditional characteristics of their gender to ask for help when need it…which everyone does at one point of another.
It is a topic that bears much importance to Braden, who values the significance of the song’s message and the urgency he felt to release it to the masses.
“This song touches on one of the most important subjects that I’ve ever written about. It speaks to a world full of men, both young and old, who are perpetually taught the importance of being ‘tough’,” Braden said. “This thought process needs to change and it needs to feel natural to be able to talk to your friends and your loved ones when something is bothering you. Mental health matters and I hope this song serves as a reminder to let friends know when you’re always available to talk, and that there is always somewhere to go.”
Lyrically, this song uses articulate imagery and down-to-earth, relatable scene-setting to put the listener right in the middle of the conversation. One can sense confusion, frustration, and internal turmoil as the song progresses and the singer announces his willingness to be there for that person who is going through life’s toughest battles.
“If that cross gets a little too heavy
If one night gets a little too dark
If the demons you’ve been fightin’
Get the drop on a worn-out heart
I ain’t sayin’ I can make it all better
But when it feels like it can’t get worse
And you’re thinkin’ ‘bout callin’ it quits
Call me first”
Following his latest offering, “How It Starts”, “Call Me First” serves as another example of just how musically flexible the Warner Music Nashville singer is as an artist. Making a name for himself across the mainstream country music spectrum for his hard-hitting, high-energy rock-infused anthems, the gritty powerhouse rocker showcases the ability to change things up a bit with more sentimental, emotionally-exploring sides of his personality.
Exploding out the gates in early 2024 with the release of “Devil You Know”, Braden has remained a constant throughout the year with releases that have followed over the past six months, including “More Than A Prayer,” “Above The Water” and the aforementioned “How It Starts”. Wrapping the year on his headlining The Real Friends Tour, Tyler is set to join the respective headlining tours of Warren Zeiders and Brothers Osborne in 2025.
