THE DRYES - Ain't God Good - Independent Release

Finding your unique path as an independent artist takes strong perseverance, knowing exactly who you are, and dutifully crafting a signature sound that’s both instantly recognizable and consistent with incorporating fresh elements of intrigue.

Though there’s no official roadmap to navigate, acclaimed husband-wife duo The Dryes have provided a very strong blueprint since first breaking onto the scene in 2018.

Following the summer flare of their last single, “daydrinkin,’ Katelyn and Derek now cap off their 2024 with what is one of their most powerful songs to date, “Ain’t God Good.”

Wearing their faith on their sleeve, something they’ve unashamedly done throughout their careers with inspiring transparency on songs such as “Dear Heart,” “I Believe,” and “Who Needs to Hear This,” they share about this new single:

“When a family member asked us to sing this song at a loved one’s funeral, we realized that people can relate to this song on a real level. We may never know the answers for many things on this side of heaven, but there’s beauty poking through at every corner, if we just look for it. No matter what we walk through, God is good for the days we have breath in our lungs, and we can feel thankful for another setting sun.”

Surrounded in faithful reflectiveness radiating the melodic guide while highlighting the traditional stature of country music’s foundational storytelling, each of the verses provides snapshots of lessons learned being passed down from the older generation to generation next through lenses of wisdom, faith, and hope; whether it was when a dry farming season didn’t trip up grandpa’s faith or the heaviness of a terminal diagnosis transformed into a spirit-filled awakening of life.

The richness of their defining harmonies blends the worship infused chorus, raising a Hallelujah that places the listener on the Sunday morning church pew through touching reminders of how much we’ve been blessed by God and how He continues pouring out new blessings upon us with each next sunrise:

“Ain’t God good, ain’t God good

For all the trouble, all the sorrow

He’s still holding our tomorrow

And we’ve all been blessed way more than we should

Ain’t God good”

Lifting encouragement of Biblical truths in the bridge leads to a redemptive transformation in the final chorus with its slight, but powerful changes to its opening lines, moving from “Ain’t God good” to “God is good,” showering a praise that shakes heaven as the angel’s roar with exuberant celebration of another soul captivatingly led to the overwhelming, unconditional goodness of God.
