CLIFF DORSEY - When I Think Aldean - Black Sheep Label
A new face and old-school style, Cliff Dorsey has released a new single, one that continues the trend of introducing his neo-traditional approach to modern country music. “When I Think Aldean” is available now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms, via Black Sheep Label.
Described as an artist-defining song, this latest release tells the tale of moments Dorsey spent with his brother, highlighted by the music of Jason Aldean. It’s a down-to-earth, relatable effort that will appeal to the masses. Dorsey’s talents of a songwriter and singer are on full display from start to finish, with the simplistic-yet-sophisticated lyrics told masterfully through clear, concisely-confident vocals alongside a neo-traditional melody backdrop. A traditional sound with a modern message, this tune checks all the boxes for fans of all ages and subgenres.
Like many other new artists on the scene, Cliff was influenced by the successes of Johnny Cash and George Strait, but unlike most, he incorporates elements of those artists’ music into his own catalogue. He is a modern-day traditionalist, and “When I Think Aldean” is the latest example of why this talented singer-songwriter has the potential to become a household name in the years to come.
“When I Think Aldean” follows “Your Guess” and “Stop This Train” as previous singles off the current project, putting Dorsey on the map for many mainstream country music fans. Currently sitting in the Top 5 on the True Indie Chart, the former is approaching the Top 40 on the Music Row Country Breakout Chart.
Originally from Alachua County, FL, Dorsey now calls Nashville home and has been singing, songwriting, and playing around town and in his home state for the past few years, honing his craft and gaining the experience necessary to take his career to the next level. His invocative story-telling and deep, strong vocal delivery deserve the attention of all fans of country music, and his traditional style represent a possible turn in a new direction the genre could turn in future years.
Cliff worked with Zach Swon and Colton Swon of The Swon Brothers on his debut EP with Black Sheep Records, ‘New Neon’, which featured the tracks “Cold Shoulder”, “Girls Do”, and “Raise One”, all of which served as a formal introduction of the Florida native and his music to the wider country music audience.
