TYLER BRADEN - Above The Water - Warner Music Nashville
Tyler Braden has made a name for himself across the mainstream country music spectrum for his hard-hitting, high-energy rock-infused anthems. The gritty powerhouse rocker is changing things up a bit with the release of his latest tune, one that offers a more sentimental, emotionally-exploring side. “Above the Water” is available now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms, via Warner Music Nashville.
Written by Braden along with Daniel Agee, Ian Harrison, and Sarah Turner, this track is an ode of reflection and the unapologetic acknowledgement of pain and struggle, and the realization that we are not alone in our struggles, and we can embody the strength to overcome and come out better on the other side.
“On the surface, ‘Above The Water’ feels like a religious song, and it can be if that’s what the listener needs it to be,” Braden said. “Deep down though, it’s a song about knowing that it’s ok to struggle. It’s about being aware and recognizing those struggles, and knowing that overcoming those burdens takes time, and that’s ok too. We are human and aren’t supposed to be perfect.”
An acoustic-driven introduction and somber undertones give way to Tyler’s emotionally-honest and trademark-gritty vocals, showcasing the poetic lyrics while captivating the listener’s attention emotionally from start to finish.
“I owe it to my mama who raised me in the choir
And told me that I was a son
I run from the father, end up working harder
To do what’s already been done
Lord help me let go, wash over my soul
Maybe I ain’t supposed to keep my head above the water”
A soul-baring effort that is poised to propel the trajectory of Braden’s potential as a country artist for years to come, “Above The Water” follows his hit single, “Devil You Know”, which is closing in on 200 million streams, after surpassing 10 million views across social media platforms in its first two weeks this past spring.
With more than 385 million global streams to date, Tyler will remain busy on the road on his headlining The Real Friends Tour through the end of the year before joining the respective treks of Warren Zeiders and Brothers Osborne in 2025.
