Consistently pushing genre lines to see how far they’ll bend, singer-songwriter Levi Hummon has crafted a refreshingly unique style that fits snuggly alongside the modern country format while also highlighting the signature characteristics that have made him stand out to the tune of over 175 million global streams.

Correlating with the release of his new EP, which also includes cornerstone songs “Another Shot,” “Paying For It,” and “Make It Love,” the title track, “Bet On Me,” carries the distinction of being the only outside song cut for the project, strongly upholding the idea of when you know you know.

“The second I heard ‘Bet On Me’ I knew it was an absolute smash,” Hummon said. “Jake Rose, Canaan Smith and Amy Stroup are some of my favorite writers, and I’m grateful that they let me take a stab at it.

Staying in a space that challenges the genre lines, firmly situated between modern country essence, pop flowed vibes, and dashes of hip hop influence, the rollicking banjo lick laces the rhythmic backbeat to immediately get you head bopping as the intro drags you into the irresistible melody.

Using the richness of his ultra-gifted voice to outline his case as to why he’s a sure bet for her to roll the dice on, Hummon sets the scene in the opening verse when he tallies how the blue-sky vibes are calling them out to the open road as his heart flutters the unavoidable feeling of falling head over heels.

Continuing to plead his “sure bet” case, he paints the picture of being exactly where he needs to be whenever he’s anywhere with her, “beach side, mountain high, rocky road, highway ride,” euphorically hanging on the notion that the destination doesn’t matter so much as who is by his side.

While wrapping pop laden overtones into the expressive beats that carry the verses, the chorus interestingly shifts into a rock induced punch that has your arm bouncing up and down with its 1-2 strikes.

Embracing modern sensibilities that connect an audible catchiness to a universal feeling we’ve all experienced, Levi Hummon has crafted a very addictive song that’s playing on repeat. Though only listed as the focus track of the new project, “Bet On Me” could absolutely make a healthy run a country radio and land inside the Top 40.
