BRAD PAISLEY - Truck Still Works - EMI Nashville
It’s been a minute since we’ve heard new music from country music superstar Brad Paisley. One of the most accomplished and successful artists of the 2000’s and 2010’s, the West Virginia native is poised to once again climb the charts with the release of a song that will have us all singing and swaying along while enjoying the familiar sounds of past releases of the award-winning artist’s career.
“Truck Still Works” is available now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms, via EMI Nashville.
First performed for television audiences during the People’s Choice Country Awards on NBC, the song serves as ode and pays homage to one of Brad’s biggest hits to date, “Mud On The Tires”.
Written by Paisley along with Will Bundy, Hunter Phelps, Rodney Clawson, as well as Chris Dubois (who co-penned the aforementioned “Mud On The Tires”), “Truck Still Works” is a rekindled effort that will hit listeners and fans of nostalgia in all the right places. It also servs as a trip down memory lane for Paisley, who has a newfound energy towards re-igniting the sound and lyrical direction of years past.
“’Truck Still Works’ is a track where everything old is new again,” Brad said. “It was really fund to go through the process of what makes this song both new and old. What I love about it is that the groove, the feel, is all very modern and very country. We hope it’s a blast for anyone who’s a current fan or for someone to become a new fan.”
What has always made Paisley’s music so endearing is its ability to tell real, honest, down-to-earth stories while incorporating quirky, irresistibly catchy hooks and melodies, splashing in some humor while focusing on the sentiments that have made country music so special to so many of us over the years.
“Let’s see if that truck still works, let’s see if that song still sings
Let’s see if them miles of corn still got that shade of green
Let’s see if we can find that place I used to know about
Let’s see if they paved that old, dirt road that used to run out
Find out if that dogwood limb is still there to hang our shirts
If you ain’t got nothin’ else to do tonight, let’s see if that truck still works”
And while it says pay homage to his 2005 monster hit, “Truck Still Works” does have a life of its own, particularly for his younger, newer fans who will immediately find themselves toe-tapping and singing along just as we did with its predecessor all those years ago.
As a follow up to his performance on the People’s Choice Country Awards last week, Paisley will perform “Truck Still Works” on the American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special airing on Sunday, October 6th. Impacting country radio on September 30th, this is a tune that his poised to quickly escalate up the charts while rekindling the desire to hear more and build anticipation as to what we can expect in the future from the award-winning superstar.
