KELSEA BALLERINI - two things - Black River Entertainment
Kelsea Ballerini continues to build anticipation for her upcoming album, ‘Patterns’, due October 25th. The new record is poised to showcase the next chapter in her skyrocketing career, and the songs we have heard thus far have rightfully garnered praise for their songwriting sophistication and honesty. Her latest release, “Two Things”, is available now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms, via Black River Entertainment.
Opening her diary and sharing her thoughts, feelings and emotions with the world appears to be the trend and theme of Ballerini’s forthcoming album, and so far, the results have been incredibly impressive. The latest example is “Two Things”, which is a heartache ballad from start to finish, utilizing clever wordplay and unapologetic honesty to invite the listener into her heart and her mind.
“Two things can be true
I’ll love and hate you
I’ll be your best and your worst day
I’ll be your blessin’ and curse, babe
Sometimes I’ll cut and ghost
But sometimes I’ll get too close
You’re nothin’ and everythin’ I got to lose
Two things can be true”
Since releasing her first single, “Love Me Like You Mean It”, ten years ago, the Knoxville native has adequately and efficaciously walked the tightrope between the country and pop worlds. She has achieved monumental success as a country artist as well as a pop artist, but one has not been achieved by escaping from the other. She has found her niche within both musical realms, and continues to offer music that appeals to the masses.
But as have recently heard from her latest material, Kelsea also continues to diversify her sound, offering new music insight and elements from other genres while showcasing a maturity that is set to take her reverence as a recording artist to a new level. With “Two Things”, she has traded in the pop country quirks for the indie, singer-songwriter vibe, showcasing her underrated ability as a truly gifted musician and artist.
“’Two Things’, the story of learning to break the pattern of fighting with and learning to fight for, is OUT NOW!!!”, Kelsea shared on Instagram, adding that she’s “so proud of the heart in this song.”
Serving as the third release off ‘Patterns’, “Two Things” follows “Sorry Mom” as well as “Cowboys Cry Too,” her collaborative duet with Noah Kahan which continues to climb the country charts. Set for release on October 25th, ‘Patterns’ will be Ballerini’s first full-length album since 2022’s ‘Subject To Change’ and follows her Grammy-nominated 2023 EP, ‘Rolling Up The Welcome Mat’.
