JON PARDI - Friday Night Heartbreaker - Capitol Records Nashville

It has been two years since Jon Pardi released a full-length studio album, but the country music star continues to generate buzz surrounding his forthcoming project.  And while we don’t know when we will hear a full record from the California native, we do get to enjoy the release of a brand-new tune which was just released last week.  “Friday Night Heartbreaker” is available now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms, via Capitol Records Nashville.

Written by Josh Miller, Chris Tompkins, Jessie Jo Dillon, Daniel Ross, and Ryan Hurd, the new tune serves as an introduction of a new approaching and direction of music from the hitmaker to country music fans.

“’Friday Night Heartbreaker’ kicks down the door of this next musical chapter,” Pardi said.  “I challenged myself to elevate in every aspect, and this is the tip of the spear for what’s to come.  When I first heard the song, I knew instantly that I had to cut it…and what a journey it was recording alongside the professor Jay Joyce.  I’m as excited as I have ever been to share new music”.

Cautioning men over inevitable heartbreak when falling for a girl on a Friday night out, the track immediately hooks the listener with a clean, rhythmically catchy guitar lick and swooning melody alongside Pardi’s trademark vocal delivery.  The lyrics are quick, catchy, and sing-along worthy, which will entice the listener the first time hearing the tune.

“Ooh, she’ll get you hypnotized

Leave you victimized

She’s a Friday night heartbreaker

Ooh, she’ll get you with them eyes

Devil in disguise

She’s a Friday night heartbreaker

Hellraiser, game player

Better do yourself a favor”

Shimming along the boundaries of rock and pop-induced country, “Friday Night Heartbreaker” opens a few new windows into what we may be able to expect from the Grand Ole Opry star, while still leaving the door open to the twangy good ol’ country boy tunes that have made Jon a household name in the industry.

“Friday Night Heartbreaker” is expected to be included on his forthcoming album, which, as of now, does not have a release date.  Pardi did announce the name of the record, ‘Honkytonk Hollywood’, which will serve as his first full-length project since ‘Mr. Saturday Night’ in September 2022 and his Christmas album last year.

Pardi is currently on the road, hitting amphitheaters from coast to coast on his Mr. Saturday Night Tour which will stretch into the fall, intertwined with special appears at festivals and, of course, the Grand Ole Opry in December.
