NATE SMITH - Fix What You Didn't Break - RCA Records Nashville

Showing no signs of slowing down as we are approaching the final quarter of the year, Nate Smith is set to release his sophomore full-length album, ‘California Gold’, on October 4th.  Continuing to build upon the emphatic anticipation of the record, the country crooner has unveiled a new track.  “Fix What You Didn’t Break” is available now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms, via RCA Nashville.

“I’ve always been a big fan of epic pop rock songs of the 2000’s,” Smith said.  “Bands like Lifehouse, Goo Goo Dolls, 3 Doors Down were all influences in my early teens.  ‘Fix What You Didn’t Break’, to me, feels like the perfect blend of 2000’s rock and heartfelt country.”

In today’s country music climate, songs with staying power are those that stay true to their genre while also offering infusing elements of other realms, including pop, rock, and others.  “Fix What You Didn’t Break” is an honest track that is faithful to country music, while undoubtedly expressing Nate’s influences from the pop-rock world of years past.

Written by Smith along with Ahsley Gorley, Lindsay Rimes, and Taylor Philips, the same team who penned the smash hit “World On Fire”, this latest tune exonerates the same country-rock vibe that captures the essence of who he is as a singer, songwriter, and artist.

Lyrically, this is a vivid depiction of newfound love and appreciation, while the musical arrangement is a perfect array of modern-day heavy-hitting grit that eloquently showcases Smith’s powerfully-impassioned vocal delivery.

“Yeah, I know you didn’t leave me lonely

Weren’t the one that put the heartbreak on me

Picked up the pieces

It wasn’t the mess that you made

Could’ve left me just the way you found me

But you came and put your wings around me

Girl, you went out of your way

To fix what you didn’t break”

Available for pre-save now, ‘California Gold’ will feature 16 songs, including the lead single “Bulletproof” as well as “Can You Die From a Broken Heart” with Avril Lavigne.  In addition to the new music, Nate will continue his extensive run on the road when he kicks off his Through The Smoke Tour on September 19th, which will stretch from coast to coast through December.

This continues to be a career-altering year for Smith, who kicked off 2024 with an accomplishment matched by only a few in the past 30-plus years.  “World On Fire”, earned the No. 1 spot on Billboard Country Airplay chart for eight straight weeks, joining the company of “Last Night” by Morgan Wallen, “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere” by Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffett, and “Amazed” by Lonestar as the second-longest No. 1 chart rein since Country Airplay began in 1990.
