GRACE ASBURY FT. DALTON DOVER - Saving You Saved Me - Independent Release
Atlanta, GA native Grace Asbury is taking her music career to new heights in 2024 with the release of her fourth song of the year. “Saving You Saved Me”, featuring Mercury Records / UMG recording artist Dalton Dover, is available now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms.
Written by Asbury and Dover along with Tommy Karlas and Marti Dodson, this latest effort is a culmination of the hard work and life’s trials and triumphs that have led the GA native to Nashville. Residing in Music City for just over a year, the talented singer-songwriter has found her home, physically, emotionally, and creatively, and has also discovered her niche in the highly-competitive confines of country music.
“I feel like I’m figuring out how to be me,” Grace said. “So many people can relate to having gone through a lot in life and having somebody take the weight off your shoulders where they can say, ‘I’m not alone in this anymore.’”
The emotionally-laden track is an eye-and-heart-opening musical experience for the listener, as the vulnerability revealed and the honesty conveyed and unprecedently impressive for a young, new artist on the scene. The lyrics seemingly wrote themselves as if from a poem in a diary, while her vocal delivery is head-turning as Asbury effortlessly glides and soars with an ear-pleasing experience from start to finish. Her power, control, and grace are impressive, but it doesn’t delineate the limelight from the message of the song, which is the showcase element.
“Oh but you took the weight of my world
And put it on your shoulders
You looked into these eyes
And found something worth holding
Onto forever, and baby I never
Saw myself the way you see
Yeah it’s true
Saving you saved me”
Not to be forgotten is Dover, has made himself known as one of the more promising up-and-coming singers, songwriters, and recording artists since the release of his debut single to radio in March 2023. His vocals on this track are beautiful and articulate, delivered with an honest passion that take this song to the next level.
“Saving You Saved Me” follows “Honest Man,” released in February, “Slow Down Child” in April, and “Settlin’ In”, in mid-July. Collectively, they represent the next chapter in Asbury’s life, both personally and professionally, and serve as her formal introduction to greater mainstream musical landscape.
