THE CASTELLOWS & WYATT FLORES - Sober Sundays - Warner Music Nashville
There’s no denying the inevitable that the respective careers of The Castellows and Wyatt Flores are on a trajectory of superstardom. The uber-talented artists have showcased their abilities as singers, songwriters and performers with a stretch of releases early in their time in the country music mainstream that have garnered the praise of fans, critics and media alike.
Now, the two are joining forces with a beautifully penned tune about the promise of forever, commitment, and emotional resiliency. “Sober Sundays” is available now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms, via Warner Music Nashville.
Written by Powell, Eleanor, and Lily Balkcom (collectively known as The Castellows) and Flores, this song is the result of a mutually-grateful opportunity amongst all of the writers that culminated in a musically-poetic anecdote of emotion, vulnerability, and steadfast devotion.
“Several months ago, us girls had the opportunity to write with Wyatt. None of us really knew what kind of song we were going to get, but this song has since become of one of our favorites,” The Castellows said. “It’s been such an honor working with Wyatt. We hope ya’ll love this song as much as we do”.
They say the best songs are deeply personal to those who write them, and “Sober Sundays” resonated in the heart and mind of all involved in the process from the onset.
“This collaboration doesn’t exist just because that’s the current trend,” Flores said. “I had the honor of actually sitting down and writing this beautiful song with Ellie, Lily, and Powell. This song means so much to me and I’m very grateful for the opportunity to work with the girls.”
The swaying melody is just as beautiful as the interluding vocal harmonies of the Balkcom’s and Flores through the verses and chorus, articulately and delicately telling a tale of piety and consecration.
“I’ll stay right here
I won’t ever go away
I’ll steady your hands
Even when they shake
Look in my eyes without all your shame
Now you won’t have to ask if I’ll stay
For sober Sundays”
Both Flores and The Castellows have been making impact across the industry with recent releases that have shine their respective stars as rising promising acts in country music. Off his April 2024 album, ‘Half Life’, Wyatt’s lead singles include “Milwaukee” and “Wish I Could Stay”, while the trio of Powell, Eleanor and Lily have made waves in the genre’s mainstream with “Miss America”, “Cowboy Kind Of Love”, and “I Know It’ll Never End”.
