GREYLAN JAMES - Who Broke Up With You - Nashville Harbor Records & Entertainment

Fast-rising country artist and soon-to-be household name Greylan James has released a brand-new track, one that will continue to garner the attention of the industry.  “Who Broke Up With You” is available now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms, via Nashville Harbor Records & Entertainment.

Written by James along with Brad Clawson and Ashley Gorley, this is a summertime anthem centered around the notion of taking a chance and putting yourself out there, wearing your heart on your sleeve and going after what you want.  The upbeat, modern flare of the contemporary tune demands the listener’s attention immediately, ebbing and flowing through the sing-along lyrics and rhythmic thriving melody from start to finish.

Hitting a homerun with every release to this point in his career, Greylan was especially excited to share this new song with the masses.

“I’ve been counting down the days to this song dropping, and I couldn’t be more through the roof with excitement about it finally being out there,” James said.  “This song is for anyone who is better off without the person that didn’t know what they had when they had it.  Ya’ll crank it up loud for me.”

The modern country infused vibe of the intro immediately grabs your attention and perks your ears with its radio ready feel, as it then drops into a pop laden backbeat allowing James to slide his clean vocal over the top of it to keep you swaying along as he croons his way through the sing-along verses and chorus.

“When he let you walk out, ain’t no doubt

He was out of his mind

Putting tears in your eyes, tearing your heart in two

Way you’re looking at me, damn, I’d hate to be

Who broke up with you”

Written from the diary of a young adult taking a chance on love, “Who Broke Up With You” serves as the first release from James since claiming the “Song Of The Year” win at the 2024 ACM Awards.

With cuts by Kenny Chesney, Cole Swindell, Chris Young, Chris Janson, and Brantley Gilbert already to his credit, James has solidified himself as one of the strongest emerging songwriting talents in the current Nashville music community.  No stranger to the modern country music fan, Greylan emerged as a multi-talented recording artist with the major label efforted releases “Undermine” and “Young Man”, and has never looked back.

James has been on the road relentlessly, sharing the stage with the likes of Old Dominion, Cole Swindell, and Scotty McCreery, among others.  This fall, he’ll serve as direct support on Ashley Cooke’s “Your Place Tour” which will stretch into early 2025.
