KELSEA BALLERINI & NOAH KAHAN - Cowboys Cry Too - Black River Entertainment

Having performed together to a rousing response at Macy’s ACM Awards, Kelsea Ballerini and Noah Kahan have now formally released what is expected to be a chart-topping single.  “Cowboys Cry Too” is available now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms, via Black River Entertainment.

Throughout her career, Kelsea has continued to explore the musical boundaries of country music’s neighboring genres, and she has done so to exonerating praise amongst fans and critics.  This release offers the sympathetic, emphatic, sensitive side to her personality, one that understands the vulnerability that exists in the men in her life, which is hard to see on the outside at times but presents internal turmoil.

“In our world and culture and echo chamber of highlight reels and pretty things, sometimes real feelings start to feel like something you just set aside and push down to keep up,” Ballerini said.  “I wanted to write my perspective and essentially celebrate the vulnerable men in my life, and Noah adding his really unfiltered perspective into it just brought it to life in a more meaningful and beautiful way.”

The lyrics are poetic, and Kelsea’s vocal delivery is beautiful and eloquent, while Kahan’s presence on the track takes it another level.  Duets are revered and can take the musical impact into stratospheric heights, but it is also a risk that the present of multiple artists can stray the listener’s attention away from the song’s message.  Kelsea and Noah shine on this track, effortlessly complimenting one another as they alternate verses seamlessly glide through the second chorus straight through the conclusion.

In addition to being available on digital outlets everywhere, “Cowboys Cry Too” also has an accompanying lyric video available and streaming now on Youtube.  The release of the song comes after a week of teasing from both Kahan and Ballerini.  The pair originally created a buzz at the ACM Awards while performing a mashup of their respective tunes “Stick Season” and “Mountain with a View”, enticing fans to long for a collaboration.  Less than two months later, here we are with a duet that is sure to climb the charts in the coming weeks.
