OLD DOMINION - Coming Home - Artista Records Nashville

With their first release since their ‘Memory Lane’ album in October 2023, Old Dominion is back with a brand-new tune, one that that represents a new concept for the band while offering the trademark sound that has fans have always loved about the multi-platinum group.  “Coming Home” is available now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms, via RCA Records Nashville.

A song that has already taken on a life of its own, from its conception to the recording process and now to the fans’ response, this song serves as a new chapter for the award-winning four-piece, one that incorporates energy, joy, and that OD “feel” that have made them a household name across the country.

“’Coming Home’ came to life in studio, in the moment,” frontman Matt Ramsey said.  “As it came to life in the studio, it started to become more and more obvious that it was what we needed to come with next and what we wanted to come with next.  It was just so much energy and so much joy in the sound of it”.

As usual, Ramsey’s vocals perfectly illustrate the mood and vibe of the song, while the poetic lyrics make it easy to resonate with the listener while enabling the desire to sing along almost immediately.

“Yeah, so baby, leave the light on

And let your hair down

I’m your midnight rider

It won’t be long now

Been driving all night

So Katy, bar the door

Gonna hold you tight, so hold the phone

Gonna kiss you like I’m coming home from war”

These guys can do no wrong in the eyes of fans and critics at this point, with every song they write and every release they offer turning to gold (and usually platinum).  With its infectious beat and down-to-earth, relatability along with its sophisticatedly crafty lyrical approach, this latest release promises to fall right in line with what we have all come to expect from this award-winning group over the years.

Produced by Old Dominion and Shane McAnally, “Coming Home” is the first taste of new music from what promises to be a highly-anticipated follow-up to last year’s ‘Memory Lane’.  The guys have been on and will continue to be on the road through the summer and into the fall, playing festivals and headlining gigs from coast to coast.
