GAVIN ADCOCK - Sweetheart - Thrivin Here Records LLC/Warner Music Nashville

Country music artists come from all walks of life.  For Georgia native Gavin Adcock, it would take an unfortunate incident on the football field that would ignite the drive and passion into what has quickly become a promising career as a successful country music singer-songwriter.

The 25-year-old is a former Georgia Southern University football player, and after a significantly injuring his knee on the field, the Watkinsville native turned his focus to his guitar and his songwriting.  A few years and a couple hundred million streams later, Gavin is one of the bright young faces on the country music mainstream circuit.

Adcock is set to release his new album, ‘Actin’ Up Again,’ on August 2nd.  The 16-track collection is set to take his young-yet-thriving career to another level upon its release, and the rocking rowdy country artist is offering a preview of the forthcoming material with a new track.  “Sweetheart” is available now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms, via Thrivin Here Records LLC under exclusive license to Warner Music Nashville.

This is a true, unapologetic account of who he is as a person as well as an artist.  His ability to write simple lyrics that paint a picture so vivid and articulate in the listener’s mind is an underappreciated talent.  His voice captivates and governs the vibe of the entire track, and his down-to-earth musical persona and guy-next-door approach to songwriting is a sophisticatedly simplistic phenomenon.

I wish the drinks didn’t taste this good

I wish the drugs didn’t hit this hard

I wish the women didn’t drive me wild

I wish you still had your sweet heart”

Still brand-new to most casual country music fans, Gavin plays the part of a seasoned veteran, with his natural ability and hard work as a singer and songwriter evident on this tune front start to finish.  He has continued to hone his craft over the past couple of years, and his musical evolution and artistry shine on this track that awakens the elegiac bard in all of us.

Since he first focused on music full-time in 2021, Adcock has put together a solid collection of music that has caught the attention of the country music industry.  To date, he has amassed over 270 million US streams collectively, while his single “A Cigarette” has garnered 50 million streams itself.

Adcock will spend much of the remainder of 2024 on the road, playing fairs, festivals, and venues across the country, from Ohio to Texas, from now through December.
