Following her successful run as the runner-up on American Idol in 2022 and turning heads with top-notch releases “Red Bird” and her debut radio single “Ain’t About You”, CMT’s Next Women of Country Huntergirl is set to take her career to the next level with the announcement of her upcoming label-debut EP, ‘Tennessee Girl’, accompanied by the release of a brand-new track.  “Bad Boy” is available now, both digitally and on all streaming platforms, via 19 Entertainment / Wheelhouse Records.

With an irresistible hook, catchy rhythm, and relatable lyrics, “Bad Boy” is a playful sing-along anthem about always choosing the wrong guy.  Whether it’s misinterpreting first impressions of thinking she can fix what she doesn’t like, she always seems to miss the red flags when beginning a new relationship. 

Lyrically, this is a simplistic and realistic anecdotal ode relatable to many of us who have chosen the wrong path in relationships at one point or another.  Musically, the tune represents who she is as an artist to this point, intertwining elements of pop and punk while ultimately finding a home on the boundary of country music and a slew of other genres.  This song will resonate with fans on a number of levels – it’s sophisticatedly created and impressively delivered.  Her vocal range, control, and power is once-again something to behold, while the song’s vibe and melody just naturally flows through the verses and accelerates into the chorus for an ear-pleasing, toe-tap-inducing experience from start to finish.

“I separate songs into two categories in my head, Blue Jean and Leather Jacket Songs,” HunterGirl said.  “Blue Jean songs are the ones I write in my bedroom opening my diary to the world.  Leather Jacket songs are where I want to feel tougher and have fun.  Most people have only seen the Blue Jean side of my personality, but with ‘Tennessee Girl,’ I have the chance to show the full picture of me as an artist.”

With every release, this rising starlet continues to garner new fans and appreciation from critics and media alike as a talented singer and gifted vocalist.  Her God-given talent combined with her undeniable work ethic have propelled her from a reality show singing competition contestant to an artist to watch in mainstream country music.
