KEITH URBAN FT. LAINEY WILSON - Go Home W U - A Hit Red Records/Capitol Records Nashville

Country music megastar Keith Urban continues to build excitement for his highly-anticipated 12th studio album, which is rumored to be set for a release later this year.  And for his latest teaser, he is including a very special guest.  “Go Home W U”, featuring Lainey Wilson, is available digitally and on all streaming platforms now via A Hit Red Records / Capitol Records Nashville.

Written by Urban along with BRELAND, Sam Sumser, and Sean Small, the soul-infused country pop rocker is an energetic toe-tapper about picking someone up after a night at the bar.  It’s fun, clever, relaxed, and a perfect anthem for good times and care-free nights.

Upon the song’s conception and evolution, a duet was not originally in the cards.  But after the thought was presented to him, Urban knew who would be the perfect fit.

“A friend of mine suggested the idea of making the song a duet and I immediately thought of Lainey,” Urban said.  “Besides the fact that I love her voice, she’s got the swagger and attitude that fit so well with the song.”

The up-tempo track is irresistibly catchy, and follows Urban’s unapologetic willingness to stretch the boundaries of the country music to present a finished product that blurs the lines across multiple genres for a truly unique sound and vibe.

The genius of this tune is its simplicity, from the recurring bass line to the short lines of the chorus, collectively appealing to a wider audience.

“Oh, I know that it’s closing time and

I won’t lie, yes, I had more than a few

And you know I shouldn’t be drivin’

I think I should probably go home with you”

The addition of Wilson in the song’s second verse and latter chorus takes it to another level.  The two stars’ voices blend perfectly, and the energy felt through each note is undeniably mesmerizing.

“Keith has been someone in the industry I’ve taken notes from for awhile now,” Wilson said.  “Getting to do a song with Keith is a notch on my belt I am very proud of.”

Urban has not formally announced the name or release date of his forthcoming album, but it is expected this fall.  “Go Home W U” follows his current single “Messed Up As Me” as well as the song “Straight Line”, released earlier this year.

In the fall of 2023, Wilson announced her Country’s Cool Again Tour for this year.  The trek kicks off on May 31st in Nashville, hitting more than 35 markets and closing out in Monroe, LA, near her hometown of Baskin.  The tour will feature direct support from Jackson Dean, Ian Munsick, and Zach Top.  Her latest single, “Country’s Cool Again,” released in February, serves as the first taste of new music from Lainey since 2022, and her forthcoming project will undoubtedly be one of the most highly-anticipated releases of the year.
